Judy Müller-Cohn, Ph.D., Founder and CEO


Judy Muller-CohnJudy Müller-Cohn, Ph.D. is co-founder of Biomatrica® and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. She oversees the strategic direction of the company, including finance, operations and product commercialization.

Judy has more than 13 years experience bringing life science products to market. Previously, Judy was Director of Business Development at Digital Gene Technologies. Preceeding her experience at Digital Gene Technologies, Judy was a scientist at Mycogen/Dow AgroSciences.

Judy holds a doctorate from the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, and a Masters of Science from Oregon State University. She received a B.A. from Evergreen State College. Judy is the author of numerous papers and patents.

Rolf Müller, Ph.D., Founder, President, and CSO


Rolf MullerRolf Müller, Ph.D. is co-founder of Biomatrica and serves as its Chief Scientific Officer. He oversees the patent portfolio, laboratory operations, new product development and strategic alliances.

Rolf has more than 10 years of experience in starting biotechnology companies and is an expert in high throughput genomics and proteomics technologies. He was most recently a Visiting Scientist and Director, Assay Development and High Throughput Screening for the HIV Core Program Project Grant at the Scripps Research Institute, San Diego, CA. Prior to his position at Scripps, he served as Director of Molecular Biology at HK Pharmaceuticals, where he assisted in establishing the company and conceptualized the drug discovery process. Before HK, Rolf was the Director of the Total Gene Expression Analysis Services Department at Digital Gene Technologies and was responsible for scientific direction, including industrial scale gene discovery, database mining and bioinformatics integration. He also served as a scientist at the Salk Institute studying cell signaling and viral based gene therapy approaches.

Rolf holds a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular virology from the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, and a B.S. in agricultural biology from the Universität Stuttgart-Hohenheim in Germany. He is the author of numerous publications and patents.
