Judy Müller-Cohn, Ph.D., Founder, President, CEO
Judy Müller-Cohn, Ph.D. is co-founder of Biomatrica® and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. She oversees the strategic direction of the company, including finance, operations and product commercialization.
Judy has more than 13 years experience bringing life science products
to market. Previously, Judy was Director of Business Development at Digital
Gene Technologies. Preceeding her experience at Digital Gene Technologies,
Judy was a scientist at Mycogen/Dow AgroSciences.
Judy holds a doctorate from the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, and a Masters of Science from Oregon State University. She received a B.A. from Evergreen State College. Judy is the author of numerous papers and patents.
Rolf Müller, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Rolf Müller, Ph.D. is co-founder of Biomatrica and serves as its Chief Scientific Officer. He oversees the patent portfolio, laboratory operations, new product development and strategic alliances.
Rolf has more than 10 years of experience in starting biotechnology companies
and is an expert in high throughput genomics and proteomics technologies.
He was most recently the Director of Assay Development and High Throughput
at the Scripps Research Institute where he was responsible for the development
of high throughput small molecule drug screens. Prior to his position
at Scripps, he served as Director of Molecular Biology at HK Pharmaceuticals,
where he assisted in establishing the company and conceptualized the drug
discovery process. Before HK, Rolf was the Director of the Total Gene
Expression Analysis Services Department at Digital Gene Technologies and
was responsible for scientific direction, including industrial scale gene
discovery, database mining and bioinformatics integration. He also served
as a scientist at the Salk Institute studying cell signaling and viral
based gene therapy approaches.
Rolf holds a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular virology from the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, and a B.S. in agricultural biology from the Universität Stuttgart-Hohenheim in Germany. He is the author of numerous publications and patents.
Trisha Dowling, Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Trisha brings fourteen years of sales and marketing experience in the biotech industry. Prior to joining Biomatrica, she served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for two years at Continental Lab Products, a division of Pelican Life Sciences where she was responsible for direct sales, global marketing, product commercialization and business development. Preceding her experience at Continental Lab Products, Trisha worked at Upstate⎮Chemicon, Invitrogen Corporation, Life Technologies, Inc. and Amersham Life Sciences. Trisha graduated from Miami University and earned her B.A. in Zoology and Gerontology.
Brian Baumann, Director of Software Products
Brian has over 12 years of software development experience in the biotechnology
industry. Most recently he was a Senior Solutions Consultant and Product
Manager at Accelrys where he helped lead a Biological Registration Special
Interest Group. Brian has worked with companies such as Bristol Meyers
Squibb and Genentech to develop High Content Screening solutions.
Brian's accomplishments have spanned process automation, image processing, instrument integration, and data analysis. Brian holds a B.S. in both Computer Science and Biology from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern University.
