DNA SampleMatrix® Description - Now Available as QIAsafe™Preservation of genomic and plasmid DNA at room temperature DNA SampleMatrix® is a novel sample storage medium ideal for shipping and long-term storage of DNA at room temperature. DNA SampleMatrix® is a proprietary synthetic medium that effectively preserves genomic and plasmid DNA samples at room temperature. Sample collection is quick and easy; DNA samples can be spotted directly onto DNA SampleMatrix® and dried on a lab bench or in a laminar flow hood overnight. As the SampleMatrix® dries it forms a glass-like shell securely “shrink-wrapping” the DNA samples providing superior protection against degradation. DNA recovery is as easy as just adding water. The user friendly, simple single-step recovery yields assay ready intact DNA for all downstream applications. Samples stored in DNA SampleMatrix® can be conveniently shipped by regular mail eliminating the need to send samples overnight in costly dry ice containers. DNA integrity is ensured even when exposed to variable temperature fluctuations associated with shipping DNA SampleMatrix® is the ideal solution for managing samples at room temperature saving time, energy, and costs associated with conventional storage methods.
From Nature to the Lab… Add your liquid sample to a well and the dissolvable SampleMatrix® forms a protective seal around the sample as it dries, effectively “shrink-wrapping” the DNA.
